Old Fashioned Fun Day

On Tuesday 18th June the SRC students ran an Old Fashioned Fun Day to raise money for the farming community at Baradine. We are proud to announce that we raised $1,386. In addition to funds, many of our students coloured in pictures and wrote messages of support for the farmers.

While dressed in old fashioned clothing, the students participated in games such as bobs, captain ball, tunnel ball, coits, knock em downs and pin the tail on the donkey. On the oval we had egg and spoon races, potato relay races, three-legged races, wheelbarrow races, kick the can and sack races. We also had an immensely popular tug of war. It was hard to say which was the most fun activity. The queues were long, but polite, and the smiles were all around. There were plenty of grubby knees and grubby hands as evidence. Many students tried new activities and learned how to play new games.

Congratulations to all the SRC members, who put on a wonderful day. Congratulations also go to our dress up winners: Miriam (K), Jacob (Year 1), Katherine (Year 4) and Jack (Year 5)!
