Project Legacy
Project Legacy was a collaboration between Year 5 and 6 students as part of the Meadowbots group in 2019, 2020 and 2021. After the NSW Government announcement about the Meadowbank Education Precinct and our school moving sites, the Meadowbots group wanted to create something that would maintain the legacy of where we had come from- a digital memory of our old school in Minecraft.
Students took measurements of the site, made plans, took photos and formulated teams to carry out the project in Minecraft. Teams of students focused on different areas of the school and liased with one another to bring it together in a digital model.
With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, school shutdowns and changes to extracurricular activities meant that the project was halted at different stages in 2020 and the beginning of 2021. Final finishing touches were made throughout 2022 and we are proud to finally bring a vision of our old school site to you.
I would like to thank the past students involved as pioneers of Project Legacy. I am immensely proud of their efforts with such a huge undertaking. By digitising the old school site in Minecraft we have honoured the memory of our former students and community for years to come.
